Its Here! The Yes There Really is a Kalamazoo Vaccine T-Shirt
Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo. It's the unofficial slogan of our fair city. You see it on bumper stickers, key chains, and the occasional locally made beer stein. "Home of the Les Paul? Checker Cabs? Bell's Brewery?" you coax when traveling out of state, before finally holding up your right hand and pointing to the approximate location. That frustration is over, and it only took a global pandemic...
Last week the world watched as trucks loaded with life-saving COVID-19 vaccines left Kalamazoo's Pfizer plant on their way for distribution. These vaccines had been proven 95% effective in trials at preventing contraction of the COVID-19 virus, and could be the edge that healthcare workers around the world have to getting this outbreak under control. To celebrate this victory, a Kalamazoo resident created the perfect t-shirt.
Reddit user tmntnate created a thread in the Kalamazoo SubReddit, saying, quote:
Made a shirt.
Made myself laugh.
Good to see Kalamazoo getting positive pub on a national scale.
Proud of the Kalamazooians that helped make this thing happen.
Boasting the caption, "Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo vaccine!" the shirt perfectly marries our unofficial city slogan with a pretty big reason to be put on the map, and thanks to the hard working scientists at Pfizer, we could all be closer to sipping our craft brews and playing our Les Pauls in public.
The t-shirt is available through RedBubble, and is available in a variety of styles. Grab a few for the
