A Look Back At The 1969 Rock Revival Festival In Kalamazoo

An official poster from a legendary festival in Kalamazoo has been spotted on eBay for a hefty price.

Back in the 60s and 70s, Kalamazoo was a destination for bands that were traveling between Chicago and Detroit, which would allow them to make some more money by playing an additional show.

Kalamazoo also had its festivals, and one such festival was the Rock Revival, which was headlined by Bob Seger in 1969.

An eBay listing actually has an original handbill of the show that was held on June 8 in one specific detail in particular that verifies its validity...

On the back of the handbill, there is a detailed map of US 131 intersecting with I-94 Road, intersecting with Lake Street, giving directions on how to get to the Kalamazoo fairgrounds:

Held at the Kalamazoo Fairgrounds, the Kalamazoo Rock Revival was held on June 8, 1969. Performers included Bob Seger, Frost, Smoke, Plain Brown Wrapper, the Rationals, Savage Grace, Red, White and Blues, Brownsville Station, and All the Lonely People. The original handbill was printed on thin white stock and measures approximately 4” x 7”.
