The holidays are merry and bright in Candy Cane Park as the annual Bronson Park tree lighting ceremony will be November 29.

How many city parks have inspired songwriters to craft a holiday hit? Michael Narada Walden's "Candy Cane Park" is a staple of Christmas cheer if you are from Kalamazoo. Only a few decorations are on site now- reindeer grazing on the grass and a few stray snowflakes clinging to the trees, but soon the giant candy canes will line the sidewalks of Bronson Park and (cross your fingers) a fresh coat of light snow will provide a festive scene for the tree lighting ceremony November 29.

The festivities begin at 5 pm with live music, live reindeer, ice carving, crafts, hot chocolate and a visit with Santa. If you are on the nice list, you won't want to miss this! They will flip the switch at 5:50 and light up the Bronson Park tree as we move closer to Christmas.
