Detroit Lions Need To Regroup After Tough Start To The Season
Yesterday was the first day of the 2025–2026 NFL football season and, well… It did not go well for the Detroit Lions. They lost the opening game of the season in Green Bay against the Packers 27 to 13.
With this loss, is it too early to hit the panic button in terms of their outlook this season?

Obviously, it’s only one game, but it is important to look at some of the glaring issues that they had in their first game.
Pride of Detroit made a very good ass assessment of their loss against the Packers and six takeaways from this very rough opening game.
Among those issues was the pass rush, which posed little to no threat to Jordan Love, who was comfortably passing all day long.

Possibly the most glaring issue yesterday was the fact that the Detroit Lions' offensive line was jumbled up during the offseason, and it was exposed in their game against the Packers.
As Pride of Detroit points out, last year, the Detroit Lions' backfield had some big numbers that they’re going to have to work hard to repeat again this year:
Last season, running back Jahmyr Gibbs averaged 5.6 yards per carry, and David Montgomery had 4.2. Against the Packers, Gibbs finished with nine carries for 19 yards and 2.1 yards per carry, while Montgomery had 11 carries for 25 yards, averaging 2.3 yards per carry.
Overall, the one thing to take away is that it is only the first game of the season, and they will have to adjust if they hope to make the playoffs
