Red Wings Forward Suspended For World Championship Quarterfinal
Detroit Red Wings forward, Anthony Mantha has been one of the scoring leaders for Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship. He will miss out on Canada's next game.
According to M-Live, the Red Wings forward is suspended for the quarterfinal for a hit delivered to Colin White of The U.S.A.
In the game Mantha had a 2 minute penalty and a 10 minute misconduct for the hit. Mantha has had a great World Championship run as he has scored 7 goals and has 12 points in Canada's 7 games.
If Canada can advance, Mantha will be available to play in the semifinal. The Red Wings have Anthony Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi playing for Team Canada.
Dylan Larkin and Luke Glendening are on Team U.S.A. Red Wings defenseman, Filip Hronek is playing for The Czech Republic. All three teams are still alive in the tournament.
Hopefully with these players having a chance to continue playing this spring, the experience will carry over to next season for the Red Wings.
