Detroit Red Wings To Host First Event In The Final Season Of The Joe Louis Arena

If you love to run and are a die hard Red Wings fan here is your chance to take part in the "Hockeytown 5k" on September 10th.

According to the story at M-Live,  the event will be the first, "Farewell Season at The Joe" event.   The run will allow fans to finish the race at center ice at The Joe.

The 5k will start at the steps of the arena. Then the course will take fans along Atwater Street and the Riverfront Trail path before taking fans into the arena.

Once the race wraps up, The Wings will host the "5k Festival".  This event will feature appearances from current Red Wings and alumni who will sign autographs and participate in a Q & A session.

There will also be tours of the locker rooms along with photo ops with the banners from the rafters and much more.
