We've got some children to uplift in our community.

Learn how to make the world a better place from the comfort of your living room. Find out what it means to be a Jaycee at their Membership Meetup, Sunday, March 22nd from 8:00pm to 9:00pm.

Enjoy drinks from a full bar and free appetizers as you meet and greet. No pressure. Just think of it as a way to make fast friends!

All funds raised will go to help the Kalamazoo Jaycees send their leaders to trainings and conferences to help them build their professional skills to help them better influence change in the community.

It's all happening at the Lawrence Autism Center, so mark your calendar and plan on joining the fun!

The Kalamazoo Jaycees is a group of community focused young people aged 21 to 40.

Did you know that local Foster children show up at their temporary family's houses with their belongings in garbage bags? That's if they have any belongings at all. Some arrive with no coats, no shoes, nothing of comfort that promises a happy ending to their family strife. Imagine it; you're confused, scared, and you have nothing. Want to change that? Nikki Dobos is a bit obsessed with the macabre. Combine that with her talent for make up and special effects, bring in an brilliant young photographer (Jonathan Brandt), and there's bound to be some unsettling results.

Early this year I learned a horrible truth about the foster care system. Displaced children are often dropped off at their foster parents' home with their belongings in a garbage bag. Can you imagine? You're a scared child already going through hard times at home, so much so that it's in your best interest to live with strangers, and everything you own is in a trash bag...
