Game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs began last night and the home team had one of the more interesting and memorable opening ceremonies i've seen for a playoff game in the NHL.

Detroit Red Wings legend Gordie Howe, who came to be known as "Mr. Hockey", has died at the age of 88. Arguably one of the two greatest hockey players of all time, Howe had been in fragile health for several years following a series of strokes, but had rallied in the past year after undergoing experimental treatments.

The Stanley Cup is making it's way around Kalamazoo This Week.  It is in town for the 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Week.

The Stanley Cup made it's way into the RKR studio today, as it makes it way around Kalamazoo for Hockey Heritage Week.    Seeing the cup up close reminded me of the time seeing Joe Elliott of Def Leppard setting the cup upside down.
