The Mitten #8 for Retirees – What Kalamazoo Has to Offer

Planning your retirement isn't just about how much you have in your 401k. It's about finding a place to retire that offers a lot of ways to keep active, both physically and mentally. Everyone needs excitement in their lives, right? Well, the website Sixty and Me wanted to figure out which states were the most exciting for retired people. According to the site, the scoring system was based on 16 factors like which one is "top for a particular hobby, activity, or lifestyle factor, and which state is the most all-around exciting place for retirees." And I'm pleased to announce that Michigan is #8 on the top ten, with volunteer opportunities being the number one thing making The Mitten a great retirement destination (number of golf courses was a close second).
