Third Coast Bakery was recognized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for creating one of the 10 best vegan pies in the country.

The mission is "to provide incredibly delicious treats for everyone, regardless of food sensitivities, without worry, guilt, or shame." Third Coast Bakery is "dedicated gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and 100% DELICIOUS!" Owner Heather Burson tells the story of a bride who cried tears of joy because she never thought she would be able to have cake on her wedding day.

The bakery was opened in 2013 and has been steadily growing, serving walk-in customers on Grand Traverse Bay and making deliveries to area schools and a widening circle of mail-order customers who have discovered this treasure on a summer trip up north. Now, Third Coast has been named by PETA for creating one of the best vegan pies in America.

Made with Michigan organic gala apples, it’s hand-rolled, hand-cut, and hand-filled from scratch. The result is a perfect balance of tart and juicy apples, sweet cinnamon sugar, and a buttery, flaky crust.
