Two Detroit Tigers Minor League Teams Reach The Playoffs
The Detroit Tigers will miss the playoffs this season. As one of their minor league teams won a championship, two more will play as Toledo Mud Hens and West Michigan Whitecaps are in the playoffs.
According to M-Live, the Tigers Triple A affiliate in Toledo won their division in the International league and have made the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
The Mud Hens are schedule to take on the Durham Bulls, a Tampa Bay Rays affiliate, for the best of 5 series beginning on Wednesday, September 5th in Toledo.
If they pull out a series win they will take on either Scranton-Wilkes Barre or Lehigh Valley for the championship beginning on September 11th.
With the Mud Hens making the playoffs, we will have to wait a few more weeks to see if anybody is called up to the Tigers for the rest of the season.
According to Bless You Boys, the Class A West Michigan Whitecaps have also reached the playoffs for the 5th year in a row.
Good Luck to both teams and we will see if this will eventually translate to more playoff success in the future for the Detroit Tigers.
