As Detroit continues to try to land a MLS franchise,  International Soccer is set to make it's return to Michigan with a match at the Big House this summer.

According to the M-Live story, Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor is set to host a match between Manchester United and Liverpool on July 28th.    Both teams are apart of the English Premier league one of the top professional leagues in the world.

The game will be apart of the preseason International Champions Cup which features club teams playing preseason exhibition matches around the world.

Michigan Stadium has hosted matches in the past. The last game was in 2016 when Chelsea and Real Madrid played to a capacity crowd in Ann Arbor.

A formal announcement on the match is set to take place on Wednesday.

Along with the possible MLS team, Detroit features the popular Detroit City FC.  The team is apart of the NPSL,  which also features Kalamazoo FC.

We will see if Detroit can land a pro team for 2020 or later.  If not we will still see some quality competitive soccer through out the state and look forward to another international match in Ann Arbor.
