Update: US 131 Northbound Near 28th Street In GR To Close 3-9

If you have plans to head north through Grand Rapids next weekend (3-9 thru 3-12) keep in mind that northbound lanes will be closed that weekend.

According to Fox 17,  due to bridge work just north of the 28th street exit in Wyoming, US 131 northbound lanes will be closed.

Update:  in a recent press release from Michigan Department of Transportation, the work has been rescheduled for next weekend Friday, March 9th 9 p.m. through Monday, March 12th 5 a.m.

There will be a detour that will take the northbound lanes traffic on to M-6 towards I-196 and back east into downtown Grand Rapids and US-131.

A well traveled stretch of US-131 that should benefit traffic with the work being done on the weekend.  If you plan on heading north next weekend through downtown Grand Rapids plan accordingly.

As next weekend sees the northbound lanes closed, the following weekend March 16th through March 19th,  the southbound lanes will be closed between Burton Street and  28th Street.
