Last year it was the Modern Era. This year a committee votes on a list of players, coaches for Today's Game Era for the Baseball Hall Of Fame.   Will we see anyone actually make it in?

According to M-Live,  the Today's Game Era candidates names are out and here is the list.   Harold Baines, Albert Belle, Joe Carter, Will Clark, Orel Hershiser and Lee Smith.

Managers, Davey Johnson, Charlie Manuel and Lou Pinella and former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner are also on this list.

Today's Game era covers 1988 to the present.  A committee will meet and vote on who they think should be inducted into the hall of fame.

None of the players on this list were voted into the hall by the writers when they were eligible.   Four of the name's on this list were actually rejected the last time this committee met two years ago.

Personally I think all of these players were good and had some memorable careers but Hall of Fame worthy no.   As for the managers you could make a case for Lou Pinella for his time with the Reds and the Mariners.

As for George Steinbrenner, he was a major player in the game for years and I wouldn't be surprised if he is the only person on this list voted in.

What do you think?  Do any of these names deserve to be voted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame?
