I was up in Northern Michigan over the weekend for a Memorial Service, on my way back home my wife and I stopped to have lunch at Short's Brewing Company in Bellaire.

I have had Short's beer before but I'm only familiar with "Soft Parade" and  "Nicie Spicie."

I was in a sampling mood so I got a flight of 5 beers from the 20 they had on tap.  "Soft Parade," "Ocho De Mayo," "Power of Love," "Outatime," and "Bludgeon Yer Eye" were the five that I had. I like "Soft Parade," my other favorite was "Power of Love."  This beer is a pink colored Shandy that tasted great.  I believe it was one of the beers they had for their recent anniversary.  The only one I wasn't really that thrilled with was the "Bludgeon Yer Eye."

The food at Short's is great as well.  I had the "Old Man Thunder," which is a Philly Steak sandwich with beef brisket.  My wife had the "Where'd The Cheese Go", which is a grilled cheese sandwich.  We also got to try "A Tear For Eddie," which is a pint glass filled with pretzels and three dips: "Huma Lupa Licious" cheese dip, peanut butter and "Soft Parade" ale jelly, and creative beer mustard.

This place is cool if you are ever up that way stop in and check it out.  I noticed that Short's will be a part of America On Tap next Saturday, so be sure to seek them out there as well.
