You Can Now Own Detroit Sports Teams License Plates

Last year former Governor Snyder signed a law that would allow license plates to be released featuring the Detroit Sports teams.  Detroit fans can now own these new plates. 

According to WDIV,  the new plates can be purchased beginning this week.  Fans of the Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings and Lions can show their support with these new plates.

The plates will be available for cars, pickups, vans and motor homes. Unfortunately the new plates are not available for motorcycles or trailers.

Each plate purchased will be for charity.   The teams charities that will benefit with the new plates are the Detroit Red Wings Foundation, Detroit Pistons Foundation, Detroit Tigers Foundation and the Detroit Lions Charities.

Fans can order one of the four plates from the Secretary of State.  You can order them online, by mail or in person at a Secretary of State office.
