Congrats to Randy Johnson,Pedro Martinez,Craig Biggio and Lansing Michigan native John Smoltz, who were announced as the Class of 2015.  The four will be inducted into The Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. Players need 75 percent of the vote to be inducted.  I have no problem with those four as all four deserve to be there.  I am still surprised that Mike Piazza missed out. He ended up receiving 69.9 percent.  One of the best catcher's ever he was thought to have made it in.

Another surprise is that no player for the 1984 Detroit Tigers team has made it.  The best chance now is Alan Trammell, who actually increased his vote total this year but still didn't receive  enough to get 75 percent.  It is always interesting to see how the writers vote.  Check out the vote totals here.  The induction ceremony will be in July in New York.
