FireKeepers Gives Back Record Revenue Share Contributions
Despite the cold and snowy weather really bringing us down, this is one of my favorite times of the year. Wanna know why? Because I get to hang a big old fat "I told You So" over the heads of the doubters and haters. I'm talking about all the people who were against FireKeepers Casino coming into our community saying it would increase crime and cause poverty and bankruptcy. Well guess what? Not only did it NOT happen but this great organization has provided jobs, entertainment, great food and...wait for it...millions and millions of dollars of contributions to our area and the State of Michigan.
In fact, it's another record! According to the press release sent to me from Amber Ballard and Jim Wise from FireKeepers, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and casino leadership have given back a total of $24.2 million from 2018 to the State of Michigan and the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board. That brings the total since they opened in 2009 to $192,717,102!!! I only have 2 things to say. First, thank you FireKeepers and second...I Told You So!!!
