Former Blue Jays slugger, Jose Bautista is attempting a comeback to Major League Baseball.  Instead of just being a hitter, Bautista is trying to be a two way player.

According to Yahoo Sports,  the now 39 year old Bautista has been working out as a pitcher as well as playing first base.

Bautista is expected to play for the Dominican Republic in the upcoming Olympics.   It is not clear if he will pitch at all during the Olympics.

He last played in the majors in 2018 and being 39 doesn't help as most teams are not interested in older players.

If he can somehow impress with his arm or with his bat he might be able to land on a roster.  With the success of Angels pitcher/DH, Shohei Ohtani, more teams are looking for two way players.

We'll see how he performs this year and if he can't make it back to the majors at least we will get to see him one last time at the Olympics.
