The terrifying science fiction film Alien marks its 40th anniversary with a special screening of the movie.
Alien has en enduring legacy. The 1979 film spawned 3 sequels, Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992), and Alien Resurrection (1997). The two prequels Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017) later followed, and a crossover series with Predator, Alien vs. Predator (2004), and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) was developed. That's 8 films and counting as a third Alien vs. Predator has long been rumored to be in development.
