Forget Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft; cook books from the 60s are truly some of the most terrifying reads on the planet.  Photographs meant to entice only add to the horror.  Everything had to be elaborately plated - even hot dogs.  And what the hell was the obsession with savory Jell-O?  Dude.  I'm glad the Liverwurst/Salmon Mold phase of American food is over.  But just in case you stumbled upon some of these recipes and thought, "That doesn't sound half-bad..." here's a contributor to Cracked.com who will confirm otherwise... in a way that's sure to make your day.
