If the Kalamazoo State Theatre were to team up with Herbology to bring southwest Michigan a 2020 Movie Series, what do you think the odds are of Cheech and Chong making an appearance? I'd say they're pretty good...

Harry Phillips, Director of Marketing for the Kalamazoo State Theatre, recently shared news that the five-picture spectacular will kick off with Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke on Saturday, November 14th, the story of two kindred spirits, their drug exploits, and the adventure they embark upon to get their band entered in a Battle of the Bands. Two show times, 2:00pm or 8:00pm, ensure that everyone who wants to see this classic on the big screen gets the chance while maintaining Michigan Department of Health and Human Services guidelines regarding social distancing.

Then, join The State on Saturday, November 21st for a screening of Friday. Not only is it one of the most quotable movies of the 90s, it's Chris Tucker's most Chris Tuckeriest role to next to Fifth Element. Two showtimes, as well, 2:00pm and 8:00pm, and seating is limited so call your homies and get your tickets right away because I know "you ain't got no job… and you ain't got sh*t to do.”

What about the other movies in this five-feature extravaganza? Well, you're going to have to check back. "I hope to announce this week," said Phillips. "I'm going to try and have fun with them and maybe do trivia questions or clues on Social to let people guess them." I'm crossing my fingers for Reefer Madness...

Keep in mind temperature checks and masks will be required for all persons attending the films, and seating has been separated in to pods of no more than four people to ensure that social distancing guidelines are being followed. I know it all seems so weird right now, but we won't be like this forever. Lets show our support of The State with a few laughs from their Herbology 2020 Movie Series.
