Kalamazoo Valley Community College's programs continue to grow and provide unique education in burgeoning fields. They've recently announced a development in their culinary arts program with the selection of Stephanie Hughes and Cory Barret as new co-directors beginning at the start of the winter 2020 semester. Both Hughes and Barrett have been culinary arts faculty at KVCC for several years, but what makes this duo special is that Stephanie Hughes was named 2018 Chef of The Year by the Culinary Federation of America - Battle Creek/Kalamazoo Chapter, and Cory Barrett was recently named Food Network’s Spring Baking Champion. I'd say they know there stuff. But don't take my word for it. Provost and Vice President for Instructional and Student Support Services Peter Linden, Ph.D., stated, quote, "Both have strong backgrounds and experiences making them ideal for this assignment.”

The college’s culinary arts program also includes the sustainable brewing program.
