The holiday season got a little less merry this year in Marshall after someone stole part of the city's Christmas decorations. The theft was reported on the city's Police Department Facebook page. The trumpet swiped from the angel was a custom piece and will be on the way to Bronner's in Frankenmuth for repair. The police department is asking:

Our Christmas decorations are a source of great pride to our residents, and are of great value to our community. Please, if you have any information about this crime, call the Marshall Police Department at 269-781-2596, or Silent Observer at 269-964-3888. If you see anyone tampering with our decorations, call 911.

Reaction on Facebook from area residents was, not surprisingly, filled with hopes that coal will great the thief on Christmas morning:

Really people, leave things alone!

So childish

Oh my gosh hope they get caught

How rotten

The season has been considerably Grinchy with holiday decoration theft in Hartford earlier this year.
