A tragic accident on February 24th changed the lives of many in our community who knew the three young victims. A high-speed Amtrak passenger train collided with a vehicle on KL Ave. in Oshtemo Township. 18-year-old Jordan Brooks, 19-year-old Marcionna Edwards, and 20-year-old Jarmaine Brown were all pronounced dead at the scene. Left to pick up the pieces, the family of Marcionna Edwards is looking for help raising money for memorial expenses. According to a Facebook fundraising page created by those close to Edwards, she was:

...a lovely lady... She loved playing basketball. She loved her family. She often took care of her little brother while their mom worked. She was known for her big smile and outgoing personality.

A parent burying a child is one of the hardest things a person goes through, and it's made even more difficult when the bills surrounding the event are stacking up. If you would like to help ease the burden, consider donating by clicking here. Donations will be accepted through March 6th at 11:59pm.
