Michigan Cops Will Once Again Be Targeting Distracted Drivers In Unmarked Vehicles
Police are trying to come up with different ways to get people to focus more on the road and less on their electronic devices. This is an issue cops have been facing for a long time, but distracted driving is now more of a concern than ever.
As more technology is introduced to our everyday lives, and the addiction to stay connected is becoming more of a problem while driving and even before, they are going back to a program that has shown that it can help with the issue.

Police across the state will once again participate in Operation Ghost Rider, which aims to target distracted drivers while remaining incognito, so as not to give away their presence.
Police across Metro Detroit will be sitting in unmarked vehicles, looking for distracted drivers who are unaware that there are cops around. One officer, Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy Jake Suszko, described to Fox 17 the importance of the operation:
We usually try to do it because we have, since the beginning of the year, we have seen more distracted driver fatals and accidents that are more serious. Losing a family member or having a family member that's injured because somebody else is using a cell phone or because they can't hold off and pull to the side and respond to a text.
During Operation Ghost Rider, once an unmarked vehicle confirms a distracted driver, they will call in a marked police vehicle to make the stop and issue the correct citation for the offence.
