There was an accident that took place recently in Michigan that resulted in 40,000lbs of pinto beans being overturned in a semi-truck during a harsh winter storm in Ottawa County Wednesday morning.

A report from WWMT details how the semi-truck lost control on 120th Avenue near Bingham Street around 5 a.m., and crews found they had  a bigger mess than just an overturned semi:

Luckily, the community came together and was able to help the driver, who was uninjured, and able to clean the bean mess in the back of the truck:

With the help of Dykhuis Farms' tractor, vacuum, and hoses, firefighters were able to transfer the beans to a dump trailer. Reliable Road Service helped with removing the semi and hauling away the beans, and Ottawa County Canteen Services provided food and water for crews throughout the day.

As for the driver, he was soy happy to just make it out of the wreck in one piece. Luckily the drivers seat had plenty of legume, so he was able to get out of the truck once it tipped over. Which is good, because I've listened to plenty of pod-casts where other drivers haven't been so lucky.

An accident like that could have easily caused damage to his kidneys, so in Heinz sight, he may feel like he should have been a little more cautious driving.

When it comes to if he'll ever drive this kind of cargo again, I guess the real question is, "To bean or not to bean?" No doubt after this accident, he'll want to take some time off in a place with sunny, warm weather. Maybe The Carib-bean.
