If you are heading out to the Great ZooBoo this Saturday, plan to bring your old electronics and recycle them at Binder Park Zoo’s final electronic recycling event.

According to a press release, Emerald eCycling will be at the Zoo collecting electronic waste on: Saturday October 24th 1pm – 4pm. This is a free community recycling event and is open to all consumers and small businesses.

Items accepted include: Computers, cell phones, monitors, printers, mice, keyboards, cords, cables, modems, WIFI routers, cameras, DVD and VCR players, MP3 players, PDAs, gaming consoles and accessories, CD players, radios, stereos, microwaves, calculators, remote controls, UPS, test equipment, small motors and most other electronic items.  The Zoo will even get a small donation for some collected items.  Items NOT accepted: Televisions, large household appliances, smoke detectors, hazardous materials.

“We believe that people genuinely want to recycle, but are sometime unsure how or where to recycle their old or expired electronics,” states Kari Parker, Binder Park Zoo Marketing Manager.  “This recycling event provides our community with a simple way to recycle hard to dispose of items.”
