If you plan on dinner and a movie at Celebration Cinema Crossroads, you'll have to drive a little further as Brann's in Portage has closed.

The ribs, the rolls, the sizzle...all gone. Brann's in Portage has gone the way of their meatballs and twice-baked potatoes. Brann's Steakhouse & Grille, a Michigan favorite here on the West side, opened their first location in Grand Rapids in 1960. The chain had grown to 10 eateries and now loses one as the Portage restaurant has permanently closed.

We regret to inform you that the National Emergency has forced us to make a long term decision regarding the Portage location. That, along with our recent struggles through no fault of your own, has led us to the conclusion that we will no longer be able to operate there. As of today Portage Brann's is closed permanently. We will not reopen at the conclusion of the Emergency.

We thank you for all your hard work and dedicated service. We will be happy to talk to any of you about a position at any of our other locations, at the end of the shutdown, should you make it to the Grand Rapids area.

Thanks you, we are sorry for the unfortunate timing.

Tom Brann
