Traverse City Salon Allegedly Refers To Non-Binary People To Animals

A salon in Traverse City is under fire after screenshots taken from social media allegedly show the salon publically refusing service to those requesting to have specific pronouns be used for them.

The screenshots were supposedly taken from Studio 8 Hair Lab - Education & Beauty Supply, who apparently did not hold back with how they feel about gender-neutral people:

If a human identifies as anything other than a man/woman please services at a local pet groomer. You are not welcome at this salon. Period. Should you request to have a particular pronoun used we may simply refer to you as "hey you." Regardless of *Michigan HB 4474 (Kiss my ASS Governer Gretchen Witchmere [sic]. This is America. Free speech. This small business has the right to refuse service.

There are those who are happy the company outed themselves and their stance...

Lmao the fact that they deleted their page has me dying of laughter, bigotry isn't welcomed anymore

While others, like Gerald Hennrick, are doubling down on the sentiment expressed by the salon:

We need more people to stand against this woke agenda men are men women are woman . Everyone have [sic] the right to be who [sic] every [sic] they want to be but business owners should have the right to have there own beliefs as well

As of the morning of July 11th, the salon has apparently hidden its Facebook page where the posts were allegedly originally made or completely deleted from the platform. There has been no official statement from them regarding the incident.

* Michigan HB 4474 criminalizes those causing someone to 'feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened,' with 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity or expression' included as protected classes. Offenders could face up to five years in prison for such a felony offense or a $10,000 fine.
