In the days leading up to the long Memorial Day weekend, Styx guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw was in Cleveland rehearsing for a Friday, May 27, performance with the city's Contemporary Youth Orchestra. While visiting, he took the time to sit in with the local "newgrass" trio Honeybucket for a stripped-down version of Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls."

In the video, Shaw smiles and claps along to the rollicking version of the song, which the members of Honeybucket performed on mandolin, acoustic guitar and upright bass. With light prodding, he also adds unmistakable vocal harmonies to several spins through the chorus.

Shaw and Styx do have a history with the orchestra. In 2006, the band performed with the troupe at the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, outdoor amphitheater Blossom Music Center. That concert was later released on DVD as One with Everything: Styx and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra.

For anyone who didn't make the Cleveland show last night, there is some good news, however: According to a post on Styx's official Facebook page, they sealed a deal with AXS-TV to film the concert, ostensibly for future airing. "Can't wait for the world to see what we captured on tape," wrote a member of the band's management.
