Who would’ve thought that in the year 2025, we would be going to war against what summer consider to be a very major issue that’s plugging the entire United States, in paper straws?

Personally I don’t like using straws because I find them to be completely wasteful and unnecessary. There are only a few times that straws are necessary, and that’s when you were drinking Boba tea I need to specifically suck up those delicious explosions of juicy flavor.

But other than that straws are completely useless and we should just stop making them entirely. However, there are some people that think that creating more plastic that will just end up polluting our earth is a necessary move, and getting rid of the paper straws, which are biodegradable is the wiser decision.

Enter the president of the United States, Donald Trump, who recently announced that he would be implementing the return of plastic straws, even going as far as signing an executive order for it, commenting on how the paper ones just don’t work.

It’s a ridiculous situation. We’re going back to plastic straws. I don’t think that plastic is going to affect the shark very much as they’re... munching their way through the ocean.

Trump, who is by no means a marine biologist, believes that if you simply don't think about something, it couldn't possibly be true. Never mind the fact that many sources point out that there is so much plastic in the ocean, that now 1 in every 3 fish caught for human consumption has plastic in it.

Also, 8 million pieces of plastic pollution make their way into the ocean daily, 80% of all studied marine debris is plastic, and 100,000 marine mammals and turtles, and 1 million sea birds are killed by marine plastic pollution every year. But I guess wrapping your lips around a long, slender piece of plastic makes ya feel like a real man and holds more value.

There's no word on how this may affect the Michigan-based non-profit Friends of the Rouge, who have done amazing work trying to decrease the amount of single-use plastic is being used.

Plastic Grocery Bags

A Surrealistic Plastic Bag Store Visits Ann Arbor

A traveling art exhibit has entered the city limits of Ann Arbor, offering a surrealistic walk through a fake grocery store where all of the items are created from discarded plastic trash. Creator Robin Frohardt got the idea for the "Plastic Bag Store" exhibit after watching a store clerk bag, double bag, and triple bag her groceries. She collected plastic from friends, family, and garbage cans alongside the street. The results are rather realistic.
