Sometimes it feels like experts in different fields have a whole lot to say when it comes to ways that they may help us in the long run, but may make us very uncomfortable in the present day.

Recently, experts have been pointing out that even though we are facing hotter days, like this weekend when the heat index is supposed to be over 100°, there’s one thing Michigan residents should not be doing while we are sleeping.

I know I’m not the only one who takes comfort in fans running overnight to keep me cool, but experts are now saying that people in Michigan who are dealing with the superhuman days and nights should not be running a fan at all.

I don’t know if these are the same experts who tell us that when it’s supposed to be blisteringly hot, we should be keeping our internal temperature in the mid to late 70s, but that seems a bit torturous to me.

According to sleep experts, the reason you shouldn’t be running the fan all night is the point out that you can do things like trigger, allergens, and asthma, make you congested, give you dry eyes and cause irritation, cause coughing fits in the night, and cause a stiff neck or sore muscles.

You can read the full article here, but personally, I think that if you just keep your fan dusted and your room clean, you can cut down the chance of this thing happening by a lot.

I get the concept of not running the fan all night, especially if you were in a dusty room, but there is no way that I’m going to crank up my heat during a heat wave to help decrease the chance that we will all collectively and inadvertently cause our block to lose power. We have to be comfortable at some point.
