Kalamazoo State Theatre presents a livestream concert with Michael McDonald on Mother's Day weekend. Give mom the gift of music.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Michael McDonald has an impressive resume. Before his solo hits of the 1980s, prior to being recruited by the Doobie Brothers, he was a touring member of Steely Dan, singing backup on albums like Katy Lied, The Royal Scam, Gaucho  and the career-defining Aja. In 2006, McDonald was back on the road with Steely Dan, soloing as the opening act and then joining Becker and Fagen for their set.

Michael McDonald's work with the Doobie Brothers has become classic rock canon: "What A Fool Believes," It Keeps You Runnin'," "Minute by Minute," and "Takin' It to the Streets." He was an in-demand session musician and successful co-writer (Van Halen's "I'll Wait," "I'll Be Over You" by Toto), later singing with Kenny Loggins ("This Is It"), James Ingram ("Yah Mo B There"), and many others followed by his solo hits "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near) and "Sweet Freedom." A notable resume indeed.
