A Nice Quiet Stop Along The Tunnel Of Trees, Good Hart
One of my favorite drives in Michigan is M-119 and the Tunnel of Trees north of Harbor Springs, Michigan. Along the drive is the place known as Good Hart.
Good Hart is along M-119 and is worth a stop along the Tunnel of Trees. The area features a few small shops and a general store that also serves as the post office. The general store features a real estate office, has a deli and bakery and souvenirs of the area.
The other thing you need to try in Good Hart is the crepes stand that is next to Good Hart and Soul Tea Room. They have a list of all sorts of crepes that you can enjoy for a meal or a snack. My wife and I will normally get one of their dessert crepes.
Another nice area to check out is a small beach on Lake Michigan that is by the St. Ignatius Church at Middle Village. It is a public beach that is pretty small. The rise in water level in Lake Michigan has actually made it even smaller but you can still find spots to sit at along the water.
The next time you are in Northern Michigan take the time to drive up M-119 out of Harbor Springs and not only enjoy the scenery of the Tunnel of Trees, but also Good Hart.
