You probably recognize Adam Rodriguez as Eric Delko in CSI: Miami, and alongside Channing Tatum Magic Mike XXL. He's back in Showtime's newest addition to their Penny Dreadful anthology, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. Rodriguez recently joined Mike McKelly and Stefani Bishop on the Rocker Morning Show to talk about what to expect in the new season, how historical events play a key role, and who made him absolutely star struck.

"This is basically a new iteration, so the last version of Penny Dreadful was set in the 1800s in London. And it was dynamite. It was so well done. City of Angels is set in 1938 Los Angeles amidst the rumblings of WWII heating up." Rodriguez explained. So will Hitler and the Third Reich be a backdrop to this series' plot? You better believe it. "Hitler had a fascination with Los Angeles and he wanted to make LA his hub, basically, in America once he achieved world domination."
But the war and it's main players will not be the overarching story. In typical Penny Dreadful style, there's always something interesting going on. According to Rodriguez, City of Angels follows the story of two very different siblings. "There's a battle between good and evil. There are these two sisters. There's this tug of war between two sisters to dominate humanity."
Having enjoyed success over the years, Rodriguez reflected back on a time in his early 20s when he was absolutely starstruck. "I had just come out to LA. I was doing a show called Brooklyn South at the time, and one of my cast mates was having a birthday party at a restaurant and I'm standing at the bar and Stevie Wonder walks in..."
