Battle Creek To Allow Citizens To Own Chickens Within City Limits
Live in the City of Battle Creek? You soon will have a chance to own chickens.
According to the City Of Battle Creek, starting on May 14th a limited number of licenses to own hens will be available to the public.
The city commission revised an ordinance on owning livestock on city properties. The change will allow owning of hens in the city based on property size.
If you want to own the animals you need to submit an application to the Battle Creek City and Zoning office which is located in the Battle Creek City Hall.
20 licenses are available and the City and Zoning office will accept applications on a first come first serve basis.
If you submit an application you will also need permit for an enclosure for the animals which is $100.
