For children on the autism spectrum, going to see live theatre can be intimidating. They're in a strange, awfully large building. They have to stay quiet and still for far too long. And those black outs and loud noises can get scary. Last season, the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre introduced Sensory Friendly performances for their Civic Youth shows. This season they've expanded these select performances to include two Main Stage shows (Matilda the Musical and Elf the Musical) and have added ASL interpretation, too. Plus, weighted blankets and toys will be provided through the box office if your little one needs to get up and move around a bit.

Each Sensory Friendly performance is on a Saturday at 10:00am. For more information or to reserve your tickets, call the box office at 269-343-1313, or click on the links below to go directly to each show's page.
