Former Red Wings Defenseman, Vladimir Konstantinov continues to come back from injuries suffered in a car accident back in 1997.   His family recently has turned to fans to help continue his care.

According to M-Live, the family of Konstantinov's have set up a Go Fund Me Campaign to raise funds to help with his care.

He suffered a traumatic brain injury in a 1997 limo accident days after the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.  Since the accident, which left him in a coma for a few months, he has needed major medical care.

$250,000 is the goal for the campaign that is set to benefit the Vladimir Konstantinov Special Needs Trust.

The red carpet premiere of "The Russian Five" documentary will also raise funds for the trust.   The film highlights Konstantinov and his fellow Russian teammates that played with the Red Wings in the 90's.  The film is set to be released later this month.
