It's getting to be that magical time of the year where we get to bundle up, hit up the apple orchards and indulge in cider and donuts, then go out and pick out which pumpkin we carve for Halloween. It's seriously what gets me the most excited for this time of the year. Last year I missed out on doing this but this year I won't make the same mistake. I looked up some great local places for you to head out with the family to pick your pumpkins. Happy picking:

Gull Meadow Farms
8544 Gull Rd, Richland, MI 49083- They have a tractor with a big wagon on the back that takes you around the farm. And they have smaller versions for kids to ride on their own. They also have a middle sized one that goes through part of the apple orchard.

Gene The Pumpkin Man
22637 M-43, Kalamazoo, MI 49009- Gene's is a tradition that we will carry on with our new child. Gene's has a large selection of pumpkins and they are very affordable compared to other places. Gene himself is great and loves to chat while paying for your purchases. - Gloria Hagengarth

Harvest Moon Acres
18725 M-40, Gobles, MI 49055- Great for young kids. My 8 and 10 year old are kind of outgrowing their activities. Pumpkins are priced great! The corn maze is fun. They used to be much less busy, but now I feel like they are almost too busy for their size. Love the addition of the slingshot gourds into the old town. My boys could spend a lot of time doing that one activity.- Katie Woodhams-

VerHage Fruit Farms & Cider Mill
8619 W Ml Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009-  My family loves to come here every fall for fresh donuts and apple cider. They are the best. The hayrides are fun. The caramel apples taste great. I also really like the store that sells items like fudge, syrup and handmade items. During cherry season you can also buy cherries and watch the machine pit the cherries for you. Great place to visit with families or friends.
