I've never been to the Hash Bash at the University Of Michigan in Ann Arbor but I remember hearing about it when I was, like, 12 years old.  There were tales of decadence and debauchery at the beginning of the 70s as the Hippies were replaced by Stoners; there is a difference by the way.  Now having lived in Michigan for 29 years I've never had a good reason to attend and still don't despite the fact that this year the "Bash" could take on a whole new vibe for spectators.

According to an article on metrotimes.com, there's a new level of excitement around the 48th annual Hash Bash coming up on April 6th because this is the first year that recreational marijuana is legal.  But wait, hash isn't legal so with that temper the enthusiasm?  I think not.  What I didn't know until now is that when the first bash in 1972 took place marijuana was legal in Michigan but only for 3 months.  Find out why and more on this year's event by clicking HERE.
