IGLOO Warns That Coolers Sold In Michigan Could Crush & Amputate Your Fingers
The return of warm weather in summer to Michigan means that more people are going to be out on the lake, enjoying the great weather and catching some rays while staying cool.
Hanging out at the beach is fun, but the last thing you wanna deal with when you go to get a cold beverage or a cool sandwich for lunch, is getting your fingers amputated or crushed under the hazard of your cooler.

That sounds like a little bit of an overreaction, but according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is one particular cooler that has the hazard of doing just that. The well-recognized company Igloo has recalled more than 1,000,090 quart rolling coolers due to fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.
That is absolutely legitimate. You can see the full warning here, but the product is the Igloo 90-quart flip and tow rolling coolers.
The date codes for the coolers go all the way back to 2018 and all the way up to December 2023. The link will also show you the model and SKU numbers, as they described on their website:
This recall involves Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers manufactured prior to January 2024. The date of manufacture is imprinted on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month of manufacture and the last two digits of the year of manufacture inside the circle. The model number is located on labels affixed to the bottom of the cooler.
