Kalamazoo Deacons Conference Celebrates 50 Years of Community Service
Hard times would be a whole lot harder if there weren't organizations like the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference. They have been helping needy people in our community for fifty years by providing them with clothing, financial assistance, food, personal needs, furniture, and more. In honor of fifty years of a job-well-done, they are hosting a grand celebration in LaCrone Park this Saturday from 12pm-4pm, featuring music from Galilee Baptist Choir, Total Music Ministry Choir, Petition, and The Michigan Nightengales. There will be activities for the kids, and great food, too! In the last 5 years, alone, the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference has provided $80,000 to people in need, provided 10,000 people with free clothing, and gave thousands of our needy neighbors with the household and personal care items they need. Help this gem in our community celebrate 50 years of making a difference.
