It’s very plain to see that right now. We are all going through a tough economic time. With President Donald Trump’s terror with Mexico and Canada, there are uncertain times ahead of us, not only for the general public but for people in many industries who will no doubt face the repercussions of the rising percentage of tariffs that are being thrown out.

Some of those industries are people in the car and auto sales industry and united auto workers who just aren’t seeing enough people buying new cars. There’s a lot of fear amongst local leaders who have a bad feeling that this is the very beginning of a long run of struggles.

Ford dealer Jim Seavitt, who owns Village Ford in Dearborn told the Detroit Free Press that not only are leads for new cars down, but everything is, which spells trouble:

We’re down 50% in leads. Everything’s off 40% to 50%. People just aren’t looking at cars right now. It reminds me of 2008 when the mortgage crisis hit. It’s looking like it’s the start of a crisis. This whole uneasy feeling right now.

Seavitt made a very good point that when people can’t really afford to buy groceries, how are they possibly going to be able to afford a $70,000 car? Things aren't going to get better anytime soon, as long as billionaires who serve the interests of other billionaires keep making decisions that negatively impact us, working-class people.

How long will it take for people to realize billionaires are not our friends?
