Mira Sorvino – Rocker Morning Show Interview
Academy Award winner, mother, raconteur Mira Sorvino joined Mike McKelly and Stefani Bishop on the Rocker Morning Show to talk about her latest project, Netflix's original Hollywood, a star-studded series about the Golden Age of movies and how far aspiring talents would go to be a part of it all. Sorvinos plays Jeanne Crandall, an actress of a certain age who finds the long affair she's having with a studio executive ending, which puts the future of her career in jeopardy. She ends up finding friends within the studio who work to make sure she's not ruined by a controlling man. Hollywood is now streaming.
Sorvino's talents were first recognized in the 90s with two movies you may have heard of; Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, co-starting Lisa Kudrow, and Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite. Her performance as prostitute Linda Ash in the latter feature would earn the new actress her first Academy Award. Aside from her many accomplishments on screen, Sorvino is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard, is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and dedicates her time to many philanthropic arenas. In her interview with the Rocker Morning Show Sorvino talked about what it was like playing herself playing a British actress playing Mira Sorvino in Lady Dynamite, how this new series showcases the closeted side of Hollywood in the late 1940s, how it's revisionist story-telling asks the tough questions, and which celebrity left her speechless.
