Kalamazoo Seeks For Artist To Design Mural For Monroe Building

The city of Kalamazoo has so many amazing murals to discover that if you are still somewhat new to the city, you will continue to discover new pieces of art the more of the city you discover. Now the city is giving a local artist, the opportunity to have their work of art displayed on the entire side of a massive building.

The city of Kalamazoo recently announced that they are looking for an artist to submit an idea for a Mural that will go on the north side of the Monroe building. That is the building that is right next to The Haymarket Building where the Wine Loft is currently located in Downtown Kalamazoo. They detailed their hopeful project in a recent post:

Bring your artistic vision to life on an iconic building in downtown Kalamazoo! We are excited to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the creation of a mural on the north face of historic 151 E Michigan – the Monroe Building. This endeavor is made possible in partnership with Treystar, the building owner. Interested artists, individuals, or firms are encouraged to submit their proposals by November 1, 2023, at 5 p.m.

The nice thing about this is that the artist whose idea is chosen will be given a budget of $15,000 to make their vision come to life. Interested Artists, Individuals, or Firms have to have their ideas submitted by November 1, 2023, at 5 p.m.
