Remember When Deep Purple Played The Kalamazoo State Theatre In 1996?
This year the State Theatre in Kalamazoo turns 90. Once again we look back at another great show from the past. This time we look back to 1996 when Deep Purple played in Kalamazoo.
According to Deep Purple live index, the band brought their "Perpendicular" tour to the State Theatre on December 1st, 1996.
The lineup at the time was Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord and then new guitarist Steve Morse.
The setlist featured many of their classics from "Hush" to the legendary songs from "Machine Head" also the song "Perfect Strangers" from their return in the 1980's. The set also included a long featured keyboard solo from the late Jon Lord.
The addition of guitarist Steve Morse added new life to the band and he is still a major part of their sound to this day.
There are no video clips of this particular show but there are a few video and audio clips of the tour as the band released a live album called," Live At The Olympia '96". Any memories of this show with Deep Purple?
