A shocking lawsuit is now taking place involving 17 states that is looking to sue the government from a court case in Texas that are asking the government from those 17 states to get rid of Section 504, which protects people from discrimination based on their disabilities.
Included in the lawsuit are the states of Texas, Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and West Virginia, which have all been together to Xavier Becerra, the secretary of health and human services for the United States Department of health and human services.

As Dredf explains, this was mainly set off by the Biden administration's new rule which was implemented, adding gender dysphoria to the definition of disability. The states not only want to remove this but as the lawsuit reads, to get rid of Section 504 itself:

The lawsuit says that Section 504 goes against the United States Constitution. The lawsuit says that no one should have to follow any part of Section 504. If the 17 states win, this would be a disaster for people with disabilities.

So what exactly is Section 504?

From the Department of Health & Human Services:

Section 504 forbids organizations and employers from excluding or denying individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to receive program benefits and services. It defines the rights of individuals with disabilities to participate in, and have access to, program benefits and services.

Do you think it's a bad idea to get rid of Section 504 entirely because of the disagreement about what's included?

Poop With A Friend In This 2-Toileted Bathroom House in Indiana

There are just some things that aren't meant to be shared between friends. One of those things, in my opinion, is when you have to go to the bathroom. Sure, going together in a public setting is a little different because there are stalls set in place so you don't have to watch your friend wipe their butt
