After recreational marijuana was legalized back in November, I imagine there are a lot of people who were looking forward to enjoying some in our state's recreational areas like our national Forests.  What better way to become one with nature than to smoke some nature in an area known for it's nature.  Well, not so fast.  There's a couple things that may have been overlooked.

According to an article on thealpenanews.com, despite the fact that pot is legal in Michigan, it's still illegal on the federal level and since the national parks are federal those who were hoping to partake will have to refrain.  Should you choose to gamble and get caught, you'll be subject to charges to a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance violation which is an argument for another time.  Also be aware that possession including alternative forms such as edibles will result in seizure or worse.  Get more details by clicking HERE.
