South Haven 30th Annual Ice Breaker Festival Announced For 2024

S'mores roasting, ice sculpting, and fun times are being planned in South Haven, as they've announced that the 30th Annual Ice Breaker Festival will take place at 500 Phoenix St, South Haven, MI from February 2nd through the 4th in 2024.

It always feels like after Christmas, winter can feel like it lasts a little too long. but events like this make dealing with the weather and snow more bearable, as they have hyped it on the event page:

West Michigan’s predominant and growing winter festival is showcasing dazzling ice sculptures, Chili Cook-off, Cardboard Sled Race, Pub Slide, outdoor ice skating, S’mores Roasting, Snowsuit Fashion Competition, Frozen Fish Fling, and many more exciting activities throughout downtown South Haven. The not-to-be-missed highlight of this annual event is the sculpting of more than 40 blocks of ice, weighing 300-600 pounds each, into incredible works of frozen art.

Simultaneously during the event 5th Annual Frozen Fish Fling at the South Marina, then join us at the Coast Guard hill for the 6th annual Cardboard Sled Race on Saturday afternoon. There will also be a chili cook-off, Cardboard Sled Race, Pub Slide, outdoor ice skating, Snowsuit Fashion Competition, Frozen Fish Fling, and a lot more planned for the weekend.

There are a lot of cool ice sculpting events that take place in Michigan every winter, especially the Snow Globe event of 2022 that goes down in Downtown Rochester, and we were able to get photos of some of these impressive sculptures at once of the recent events, which you can view below:

For 2022, the safari-themed ice sculptures lined the streets and featured an ice carving competition, live carvings, marshmallow roasting, shopping, fireworks and of course, The Big, Bright Light Show.
